Bermuda Part 2 --- Out to Dinner

Since I did not have a small camera and my big camera was missing a lens cap cover, and had a broken strap. we just did not get lots of pictures while we were in Bermuda. Here area a few pictures before we headed out to dinner a few nights.
The second night of our trip we headed out with several other couples for dinner in town at the Pickled Onion. It was a good meal and even better company. It is fun to see people on these trips at we only, or at least I only see once a year. There is always someone to hang out with or to enjoy a meal with.
The Third Night we went to the Waterlot which was over 300 years old and we enjoyed the meal so much that we went back a couple nights later.

We also enjoyed some time visiting on the dock of the Waterlot with friends.
And when you play hard all day and dinner takes 2 hours a little boy may just fall asleep after the first course.

How neat is it that these kids get to build a friendship and travel the world together. We are truly blessed.
Day 4 we had a beach party and fireworks for the 4th of July.
This was also Our 9th Anniversary .  All the Picture of John and I just the two of us are taken by Harrison.

Now this dinner was a bit interesting.  800 people, on the sand, with water just a few feet away, dinner, and rain.  Not the best combo but the idea was good. After we ate we headed back to the hotel to the pool and watched the fireworks from there.

February Date --- Year of dates

Remember John's Christmas Gift, a Year of Dates? We here was February's date night, even though we did not do it till the beginning of March so hopefully we can actually get March's in before the end of the month too.

For This Month it was a Movie Date, John really enjoys going to the movies, then we were suppose to go to Marble Slab for ice cream afterward (but that did not happen you will see why in a minute.)

Harrison was spending the night with his grandparents after his basketball game so we ended up going out for a nice lunch and plans for movies and ice cream to follow. Since we did not have to rush home we thought we would watch 2 movies back to back, which we did. However, since we are both eating more healthful whole foods, the popcorn, candy, and sodas that sounded good at the beginning of the first movies, were not settling well by the end of the second. So we left the second movie and headed straight home to bed and slept till 10 am the next morning. Even though we were both sick from the junk food we still enjoyed our date.

A New Era

Last week john SOLD his truck. He has had this truck since before we even started dating, so it has served him well. He drives a company car for work now and we had not moved the truck out of the drive way for 4 months so he thought it was time to let it go. We will see how long we are without a truck. I don't see it lasting long :)

Year of Dates... January

John has to be one of the HARDEST people to buy gifts for. He really does not get into gadgets, he does not play golf etc, he has every tool know to man, and on top of that he HATES to spend money so any gift I get him he asks how much it costs and then half of the time he returns it.  I LOVE him dearly but it makes gift giving VERY tough. So this year for Christmas I had no ideas and I came across this post  on pintrest and thought a year of pre planned mostly pre paid for dates would be fairly safe. We never seem to make time for date night and this "gift" would help us make it happen. So for Christmas John got 12 envelopes of dates. They are at least 1/2 paid for and if I had seen this idea sooner I would have had them 100% paid for.
So January's date was a slumber party at home (actually a 2 night slumber party). Half of the dates are at home, since we don't really have a babysitter since the move and being at home helps keep the cost down and it gives us more time really alone.
So in the envelope there is a letter explaining the date, a movie, a subway gift card,  and a couple quiz books.
So when John came home the "date" was all set up and Harrison was sent to bed early
I really did not know if John would like this gift of not but I think he enjoyed our first date and we are looking forward to the rest of our dates.

Work Day

I forgot Harrison was out of preschool this week and had made appt. John was going to come pick him up and take him to lunch but then John asked he wanted to go to work with him and Harrison said yes. And you know if you go to work with Daddy you have to dress like Daddy.

Christmas 2002

This is from 2002 when John and I where dating.... Time is not always our friend.   This picture was actually taken on New Year Eve. We were on our way to a Tim Mcgraw concert. I had been in Florida visiting  my Grandfather and talked Mom into leaving a day early so I could make it home in time to make it home with my favorite man. We had only been dating  a little more than a month and Christmas was a very tough time. We knew we were meant to be together and already talking marriage but to everyone else it was "too soon". We would go to family functions alone and then rush back to Bowling Green to spend what time we could together. I remember rushing back to Bowling Green on Christmas night so I could actually see John on Christmas day. When I walked into his apartment he told me "I never want to spend another Christmas apart".

Another note about this picture is I bought this Christmas tree and all the ornaments. John wrapped the lights, so I would not have to take them off and they are still on the tree today.

Christmas Parade

This past weekend John helped an agent drive his fire truck in a Christmas Parade. So it was a cold night but we all headed out. I don't know who had more fun, John or Harrison.
And Harrison made a new buddy.

John's Birthday

John had a birthday this week and when you have a five year old you have to have a PARTY and a PARTY THEME at every birthday. Harrison asked john what type of party he wanted and he said a money party lol so that is what we had.
and we did not have 32 candles so this is what Harrison came up with.
