Matthew's10

Matthew turned 10 and the boys had birthday fun with some slip and slide and exploring in the creek behind our house. It seems like yesterday Matthew was born it is hard to believe he is already 10.

 The boys made sure to get good and soapy before their rides down the hill so they would slide super fast.

BIRTHDAYS

 We all headed to John's parents to celebrate some family birthdays and to visit will family. We celebrated several birthdays but James' 1st birthday was the most fun.

John's Birthday

Since John does not Enjoy going out to eat we had some of his favorites for dinner and stayed in for his birthday.

6 year old Birthday Party (angry bird)

 This year we did not do a BIG birthday party like we have in the past for Harrison's birthdays. He requested to renew his zoo membership and decided to do that instead of a big party since he still wanted to get a "real gift" too. So we just had a few of the neighborhood kids over after school for cupcakes and ice cream and a couple games.

 Since this was not a BIG party I really did not want to spend hours on a great cake so we baked cupcakes and made butter cream icing and let the kids ice and decorate their own, just supplied bowls of icing and sprinkles, and gummies, and rolled the paper table cloth up and tossed when we were done. 

 I think they enjoyed it, I also just got pre packaged ice cream so there was NO dishes to clean up etc.

 We made "towers" and thew the angry birds  to knock them down.  Then instead of goodie bags the kiddos took home a "bird' and a "pig" home and it was a HIT (which I had found on clearance a couple months ago for a dollar a piece).

 And since he has wanted a pinata for the past 2 years and did not get one we picked this one up on sale a couple months ago when we thought we would have a big party so a few dollar tree goodies and they went to town  on it with a plastic bat.

 So this party did not take forever to prepare for or clean up after which is great and it did not cost a fortune and the kids had fun so it was a WIN WIN!

Birthday Morning - 6 years old

 Harrison's birthday was a bit different this year. Usually we spend all day doing fun things today he had school :(. The day home was harder on this Mama than the first day of school. I DO NOT like being away from my boy all day. SO we got up early did presents, and had breakfast.

He enjoyed his chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, his all time favorite breakfast.

Harrison & Grandpa's Birthday "party"

 While we were in Richmond for fall break we enjoyed some time to celebrate Harrison and Grandpa's birthdays, cake, pizza and presents...

 Harrison got fossils and a magnet kit, from Grandpa he got a bird and butterfly book. This is our science boy.

John's Birthday

 John had a birthday this week and when you have a five year old you have to have a PARTY and a PARTY THEME at every birthday. Harrison asked john what type of party he wanted and he said a money party lol so that is what we had.

 and we did not have 32 candles so this is what Harrison came up with.

Birthday Money

This past week Harrison took his birthday money and shopped at the toy store. He came home with a marble track set thing,  a You dig for rocks kit and two Cars that also fit on his wooden train tracks. I think he made some very good choices and he has played and played with the marble set.


This kid is a Learner and I hope he never CHANGES a few of is latest "toys"

 Rocks, shells, and bugs... he is ALL BOY!

It's a Carnival
