Christmas 2012

Christmas was kinda a whirlwind. Since we got the call on December 6th that we were moving and John was opening a new office on Jan. 1st 2013, we had 25 days, to find a place to stay, hire team members, find a new school, sell a house etc. So I was so glad that I had Christmas shopping etc done. I did not get many pictures from Christmas but we had a great day.

Harrison set out cookies for Santa and reindeer food.
We put up our Santa tree and the big man brought some goodies.

Christmas Signing

Last week the kindergarten classes sang Christmas songs at our local Barnes and Noble. They made the cutest little reindeer hats to wear.

Year of Dates... January

John has to be one of the HARDEST people to buy gifts for. He really does not get into gadgets, he does not play golf etc, he has every tool know to man, and on top of that he HATES to spend money so any gift I get him he asks how much it costs and then half of the time he returns it.  I LOVE him dearly but it makes gift giving VERY tough. So this year for Christmas I had no ideas and I came across this post  on pintrest and thought a year of pre planned mostly pre paid for dates would be fairly safe. We never seem to make time for date night and this "gift" would help us make it happen. So for Christmas John got 12 envelopes of dates. They are at least 1/2 paid for and if I had seen this idea sooner I would have had them 100% paid for.
So January's date was a slumber party at home (actually a 2 night slumber party). Half of the dates are at home, since we don't really have a babysitter since the move and being at home helps keep the cost down and it gives us more time really alone.
So in the envelope there is a letter explaining the date, a movie, a subway gift card,  and a couple quiz books.
So when John came home the "date" was all set up and Harrison was sent to bed early
I really did not know if John would like this gift of not but I think he enjoyed our first date and we are looking forward to the rest of our dates.

Christmas Eve

My parents always come to  our house on Christmas Eve so they will be here for Christmas morning. I do a lot of cooking all the time and when we have company it adds a bit to the cooking, and I love it but it is nice to go out and NOT have to do dishes some times. The Past 4 years we have went to PF Chang's for Christmas Eve dinner this year we did Hibachi since we don't have a PF Chang's in town.

Then it was Home to set up and decorate our "Santa Tree" we set up a read tree Christmas eve with all homemade ornaments that we add to each year and that is where Santa drops his gifts.
We also all open one gift on Christmas eve. It is usually a small gift but since Harrison only really had one item on his list this year we just got him a couple of things and nothing really small so he opened this  super soaker... but he picked this gift because he  thought it was his race car track.

About 4:30 he informed us that while at Grammy's the weekend before that he FOUND a race car track.... this was the ONLY thing he asked for and it was to be from SANTA. We had it shipped to Grammy's so he would not be home when it showed up. Well we went into panic mode, so John and I made a mad dash to Walmart to find another Santa worthy gift, since nothing else we got him was very exciting :) and Home we came with a Large remote control car. He had mentioned a few times he would like a remote car. And we were VERY glad we had planned on a smaller Christmas so we were able to grab a new gift. NO fear he did get the track it was just from Mommy and Daddy instead of Santa and he had to wait to find it after everything else was done for the day with a treasure hunt.

 Ready for bed.

And goodies left for Santa and the reindeer too.

Christmas 2002

This is from 2002 when John and I where dating.... Time is not always our friend.   This picture was actually taken on New Year Eve. We were on our way to a Tim Mcgraw concert. I had been in Florida visiting  my Grandfather and talked Mom into leaving a day early so I could make it home in time to make it home with my favorite man. We had only been dating  a little more than a month and Christmas was a very tough time. We knew we were meant to be together and already talking marriage but to everyone else it was "too soon". We would go to family functions alone and then rush back to Bowling Green to spend what time we could together. I remember rushing back to Bowling Green on Christmas night so I could actually see John on Christmas day. When I walked into his apartment he told me "I never want to spend another Christmas apart".

Another note about this picture is I bought this Christmas tree and all the ornaments. John wrapped the lights, so I would not have to take them off and they are still on the tree today.

Wagers Family Christmas 2011

How cute are these four... Every year we get together at my Mom's the Sunday before Christmas for some family fun. Every year the house gets a little louder (or at least for the past 6 years). Samuel, Harrison, Jackson, and Benjamin are just too cute.

Christmas Program

HOW is my boy this BIG!! Harrison has had a major growth spurt, pants that were having to be rolled up a few weeks ago are now almost too short. Every time I look at him I think to myself, "how is he that big".

Last night was his Preschool Christmas program and it was by far the BEST we had been to, orgaized well, we were in and out in less than an hour and everyone was well behaved. And it will be our LAST preschool Christmas program.... sad day.

And we always have to take a couple pictures before the Christmas Program.

My boys along with the scary santa, that has been in the family for years and years, I used to be scared of him when I was little and this is the first year Harrison is not scared of him.

Harrison always wants to take our picture too. Then right before it was time to go after pitching a FIT this is how we found Harrison. Notice his arms are still crossed from being mad.

Harrison is in the middle under the second 's' in Jesus.

Walking out carrying his candle, again notice how BIG he is.
This was a GREAT way to get the kids our of sancuary  and back to thier rooms before the parent mob headed back.
Then we HAD to go get Ice Cream.... you know its a tradation.
And look at these cute crafts that came home with us that he has been working on at school.
