Little bird warcher

Harrison is ALL about birds he loves to feed them, watch them, and learn ALL about them. And we have  a neighbor, Mr. Al, that is crazy about birds so it feeds Harrison's interest.
We will have lots a memories from sitting on the deck and bird watching. LOVE IT!

Caterpillars and butterflies

We seem to ALWAYS have jars of bugs at my house. Caterpillars and butterflies are Harrison's favorites and we have had several this summer and fall. This butterfly just joined us today. It is fun to watch them change and grow and he just LOVES it. I told him not many mama's would have jars and jars of bugs or drive around town and walk to wild fields looking for milkweed but he LOVES it.

Lamb in Neighborhood

This past weekend my parents came and Dad had a new baby bottle feed lamb so Chomper the lamb came too. I am sure this broke all the homeowners association rules for our neighborhood but Harrison LOVED having him here and all neighbor kids thought it was pretty cool. We had kids come see the lamb that we had not even seen before :)

Crabs

So we have REALLY hard water here and since the move we have NOT been able to keep fish alive. The water is just hard to manage and fish dying every other day is hard to manage too. SO this week the last fish went on to glory and instead of investing in more testing kits etc. and fish we thought we would give hermit crabs a try. So we spent one day reading and talking to people about what all we needed and setting up their new home. Then yesterday we went to pick out 2 hermit crabs, since they supposedly do better in groups, but we came home with 3 :) Craby, Shelly, and Jappy, (Murdoch better be thankful for his name )  I will post more later with real pictures of the new family members.

Why we have a Dog

We got the dog when we did because we thought the move would be coming soon, more than likely July or Jan 2012. so we got Murdoch in March. We thought a dog would be a good playmate for Harrison during a move. I also wanted to house train a puppy when I had all hard floors for easier clean up.

As you can see they are best buddies and Harrison LOVES his dog, or his "son" as he calls him :) They lay and watch TV together, eat snacks, go to bed, and yes sometimes get a bit rough. But you will notice Harrison is laughing the whole time.

The last butterfly

We checked for the last butterfly before We did school work this morning and an hour later when we where done we had a butterfly. While this experiment did not come at the best time with our move etc. It was a near experience for the whole family.

Butterflies....

During our last trip to Richmond we ended up bringing home 4 caterpillars that we found at Grammy's. So we drove them home and while we were closing on the TN house one made a chrysalis. so we moved them all to TN. And this week we have had TWO butterflies and waiting on one more.

Heading to TN

When we closed on the new house on July 26th I took John's truck with gas cans, outside potted plants, plants we dug from the garden an other things we knew the movers would not move . So when Harrison and I heading out of town for good I had Harrison in the car along with the dog, 4 rabbits, a jar of caterpillars (that's another post) , the fish tank and fish, house plants, mops, cooler, cleaning supplies and anything else that was not allowed on the truck. And off we went

Buttercup & Buzz

We have been waiting and waiting and waiting... calling Grandpa everyday to see if the baby lambs are here yet.... and finally this week Calrabelle had two baby lambs. Annie should be having some anytime...we think. She had twins, one boy and one girl and Harrison named them Buzz and Buttercup.
They are pretty cute and Harrison thought he should carry them everywhere he went.

 Buzz and Buttercup

And while we were at Grandpa's they found a couple new baby chics with one of the chickens we used to have at house. so they got them and moved them inside till they get a bit stronger.

Murdoch's first haircut

Above was yesterday, and Today Murdoch got a hair cut. He looks SO CUTE, you can't tell much from the pictures but he looks great.

Harrison DID NOT like the fact that we had to leave the dog for his haircut. When it was time to leave, Harrison started crying and continued for about 40 mins. He was pitiful.

and after a LONG day of hair cuts, time at the office, laying down much and playing with the girl next door, I found the boys worn smack out in bed.

Best Buddies

These two LOVE each other. Sure we will be glad when we don't have to take the pup out every 20 mins to go potty, and clean up messes in the house, and we wish he would not bite on to Harrison's shirts when they are playing and put little holes in them. But they are Best Buddies. Harrison does not ask me every 2 minutes to do something or play something with him. He and his dog go off to play. We are blessed with a large fenced in yard so they go out and play most of the day.

Murdoch goes for a hair cut tomorrow so we will see what he looks like after a trim :)

Just a BOY and his DOG

Everywhere Harrison goes, Murdoch goes. Harrison will say "Come on Murdoch, follow your best friend"
They are already best buddies and play all day everyday.
Murdoch is so calm and laid back. He likes to ride in the truck with Harrison, he like to take baths, and does not mind the blow dryer. He has only had 2 accidents in the house since we got him last Wednesday. In the words of Harrison "I think I made a really good decision picking Murdoch, he is the best puppy ever, in the whole wide world."

Murdoch even went to bed with Harrison last night. After a couple hours we got Murdoch to take him out and as soon as he came back in the house he ran back to Harrison's room. He did not like the idea of going back to his crate for the night. Maybe he can stay out before too long.
