Sleepy boy

This is what happens when a 5 year WON'T nap ever and sleeps very little at night... he falls asleep at the dinner table. This was at 4:30 one evening. I let him sleep there for an hour and could not wake him up. I went on and carried him to bed, changed his clothes and he stayed in bed till 5 am the next morning.

sleeping babies

From the day he was born till now

Silly Boy

It is no secret that sleep has never been taken for granted at our house during the past 4 years. Harrison does a GREAT job sleeping now and has ever since we started him on the Gluten Free Diet. However the trail at hand is that when he is at Mother's Day Out he takes a nap which he does not do at home anymore and in turn he does not go to sleep till like 10 PM or later when his bedtime is 7:30 and on days with no naps 7:30 is late some days. He reads, plays, etc when we put him to bed which we are fine with IF he is in bed AND quiet. But what we find once he goes to sleep sometimes makes up laugh out loud.
If you look close under the quilt, stuffed animals, and book you will see trains and toy story toys peeking out. And in the morning when all his treasures are not in the bed with him (since I take them out in fear that he may poke an eye out) he gets MAD.

This and That

Last night after a long day of playing John took Harrison to get his haircut and he fell asleep in the chair while she was cutting his hair. My question is how can sleeping 3 mins like this keep him up for 3 hours after bed time? He is fighting naps and not taking them most days but falls asleep about dinner time then at bedtime he has had enough nap that he can't go back to sleep.

Yesterday Harrison's friend Olivia spent the day with us while here Brother had to have some tests ran. It was a speech and OT day but Olivia hung with us like a champ. They did get to have some good playtime once we got home. She is just too cute and Harrison LOVES here. When it was time for Harrison to go back for speech, Olivia told him "Harrison you go do a good job preaching" Kids are just too cute.

The end of last week my cousin Becki and her little man Samuel came up for a visit. We headed tot he zoo and water park the boys had fun but it was oh so HOT and CROWDED.

Silly Boy

We thought Harrison was in bed the other night asleep and we peeked in to check on him and this is what we found. Hoop hat, necklace, and sunglasses. He is one silly boy. However this silly boy is sleeping much better. Since he has been on the Gluten Free diet he is sleeping through the night most night and if he wakes up he is going back to sleep easily and quickly. He is fighting naps, and going to bed, but sleeping through the night is a BIG deal in the Parkhurst house.

Silly Harrison

Last weekend we finally got Harrison a big mattress even though we have not got the head board yet. Anyway, he is enjoying his "big boy bed." Today I went in to wake him up after a 4 hour nap, yes a four hour nap. He needed it he has been up a lot the last couple nights and laying in bed awake until at least 10 before falling to sleep. Anyway, when I went to get him he told me he took a "little nap" I did tell him how long he sleep. He then went on to tell me that he takes a BIG BIG nap when it is dark outside and just a little nap during the day. Silly Boy.
