MIA...

So for the past year ALOT has happened and I have NOT been updating this blog. My friend and I have our recipe blog and usually when I sit down a the computer that is where my time goes. I keep thinking I need to work on our personal blog, and just don't seem to get around to it. I SO enjoy looking back at past events on here and have found myself kicking myself more than once for not keeping track of events etc. SO I AM GETTING CAUGHT UP!!!! Keep in mind I have over a year worth of catching up to do.  I  have uploaded pictures from my phone while sitting in the car rider line and trying to go back and fill in the gaps. 2013 won't have the most detailed posts but at least when I look back years from now I won't think we fell in a hole for a year.

December 6th, 2012 we got the call that we were moving back to Kentucky and John was going to start a NEW State Farm office on JANUARY 1st 2013. So that started a whirlwind of moving, starting a new business, selling a house, finding a house, new schools etc.

We are back close to family and old friends which is great but I also notice it means that we are not making ourselves build new relationships. We have always been away from family and counted on friends to fill the gap so we are working on joining new friends and old dear friends.

Harrison wanted a big map in his new room and I think we found one. He is loving his new new deco.

Apartment life after the Hotel

After a couple of months in the hotel and still NO HOUSE, even though we have LOOKED AND LOOKED AND LOOKED, we found this different rental. It was on a farm and literally in part of a barn. AND they have exotic animals. Zebras, llamas, buffalo, long horn cattle, etc. While not our style for everyday living it gives us a little more freedom for Harrison and Murdoch. Harrison also can ride is bike and play in the barn.

Making himself at home in the hotel

We feared that living in a hotel for so long with be hard on Harrison as you can see he has made him self right at home. He brought lots of stuffed animals which are VERY important  to this little boy.

Breakfast everyone morning in the lobby, which for a little boy means hot cocoa every morning. The lobby also doubles as a game room for family game nights.
He brought science kits with him so we still have things growing... this kit is how to grow crystals.
He still has a basketball court to play on, even if his best buddy has to stay on a leash.
And since we are still able to have movie nights, this little boy has adjusted well.

On the Move again...

A week and a half ago we got the call that we are MOVING again, yes we have only been here for a year and a half.

We are excited while John really enjoyed his role in Leadership and learned so much, with some changes that are being made we decided that going back into agency would be the best choice for our family. So, John will once again be a State Farm Agent in LEXINGTON, KY. and starts January 1st.

SO our lives are a little crazy right now, looking for a place to live, getting our house on the market to sell, getting a new office lined up, staff hired, clients called, find new schools etc.... and all of this with all the Christmas activities as well. Last week I was stressed with school ad house stuff and this week John is having trouble finding team members but we know God's hand is in it all and it will all work out.

We LOVE Murfreesboro, and could not have asked for this move to have been any better, we hate to leave this town and the sweet sweet friends that we have made here.

Garden Time

When we moved Harrison was upset that we could not move our garden with us. So while we at the new house a few days before the big move and the painters were working Harrison and I worked very HARD to get a little garden planted we even moved a few plants from our old house.  We did not know if we would actually get anything from this garden but we have gotten some peppers and cherry tomatoes and last week we picked our beans before a freeze.  They would have produced for a couple more weeks but we knew frost was coming and we were tilling other beds in the yard so we went ahead and cleaned up the garden too. But here are the beans we got from Harrison's garden :)

Update

I know I have not been blogging much since the move. I just can't seem to get back on top of things.  But here is a short update and I will post more with pictures soon. Harrison's 5th birthday is in two days so we are in full birthday mode. We have some dear friends from our former town coming in to visit tomorrow for a couple of nights. Then the end of the week I have a childhood friend, and cousin and their kiddos are coming and Harrison's birthday party.

But I think Harrison is settling in to our new house and town. He is playing soccer, taking swimming lessons, and enjoying school. We have not yet found a place for him to ride but thought would give him some team activities so he could meet some friends. He has fit in with him team mates well, and we are starting to set up play dates etc which Harrison and Mommy enjoy.

We are settled into the house even though I keep wanting to change things around :) Once I get curtains up it will feel more like home I think. I could not put my figure on what was missing and I think the windows just need some help. There is not a curtain or rod one in the house so that will be next on the to do list.

We have pulled out all the landscaping and have replaced the front yard, and working on getting the back yard planted now. I would never have thought to look but john found all of our new plants on craigslists... We enjoy doing the yard work but I am glad things are starting to pull together. Now if we can just get some grass to grow in the back yard.

This past week we also took Harrison to his first football game. He LOVED it... even a year ago he would not have been able to handle the crowd or noise level but he did great. Here is a picture (not great just from my phone) I will post more later.

Random Pic from my phone over the past week or so

The Random cell phone that feel out from our couch when we went to move it.... We have no idea who's it is.
Harrison's get up his first night in the new house.
boxes boxes boxes everywhere so glad they are about all gone... the garage still needs keep but the house is coming together.
and I came across a bunch of old pictures and I just don't remember us looking this young... I guess we are just getting old. This picture was from when we took a cruise a few months after we got married.

Play time

This is the reason we gave Harrison the bonus room for his room, and the reason why we did not not put the saggy carpet upstairs..... The reason Harrison was excited about the move was the fact that he got the biggest room in the house and could build and leave up BIG train tracks. At the old house we would make big tracks in the sunroom but they could only stay a day or two. He is super excited now if we can just find a playmate. There at lots of kids on our street but I think they are all girls and older than Harrison

New kitchen

I LOVE my new kitchen, really it is the reason we bought this house. The first thing we fixed in our new kitchen was rice krispie treats, gluten free of course. We may need to make another batch today :)

Heading to TN

When we closed on the new house on July 26th I took John's truck with gas cans, outside potted plants, plants we dug from the garden an other things we knew the movers would not move . So when Harrison and I heading out of town for good I had Harrison in the car along with the dog, 4 rabbits, a jar of caterpillars (that's another post) , the fish tank and fish, house plants, mops, cooler, cleaning supplies and anything else that was not allowed on the truck. And off we went

Suprise Party

Wednesday Harrison and I were looking forward to a play date with some deal friends before the move. But when we turned on to their street we knew they had planned something more. Amber and Stephanie, had planned a surprise going away party for Harrison and I. There were about 15 Mamas there and all their kiddos. It was a great day.

The surprise was a bit much for Harrison for just a minute.

But we all had a great day, with yummy food, and great friends.
Notice Harrison on the top left hand side of the slide.
This is about half of the kids but was the picture I had with the most kids in it :) I had never had anyone give me a surprise party and this was a big surprise. Each sweet lady also wrote me an encouraging letter for the move. We will miss these friendships but we are lucky enough to get to have great friends in lots of places.
