Dog Days of Summer

 Harrison wanted to take the dogs swimming so we all packed up and headed to the creek. Harrison had fun but his dogs were not as fond of the water has he had hoped. He had visions of them all 3 swimming together but that was not the case. Murdoch DID NOT like the water, we did get him in once but he WAS NOT happy about it. Madeline, did not mind it but she was more concerned with chasing the bugs on the water's edge than playing with her boy. It was still a fun afternoon.

We moved!

We moved into the new house and got a new puppy march 21st

Enjoying the Big bed

After we left Tn we have spent 3 months living in a hotel. There are things we don't like and can't wait to do in our own house, like not having to walk the dog 3-4 times a day, being able to cook a real meal, etc, but I will miss the housekeeping.  Harrison and Murdoch are going to miss having their own queen sized bed.

These two are STILL best buddies and LOVE each other.

Doggie doggie

Harrison will find ANY reason to sleep on the floor in our room so he can sleep with Murdoch all night. Normally the dog goes to bed with Harrison then when we go to bed the dog come down to our room so he is not temped to eat Harrison's toys.

And they GROW

Harrison and His Dog are best buddies, just as we had hoped. And while the dog has cramped our style (not being able to just drop what we are doing and go somewhere for a day or two etc)  and our wallet a bit, Our boy LOVES them and that makes it all worth it.

Murdoch is 1 today and is almost 70 pounds and all thing considering we could not asked for a  better dog. Yes there is alot of "waste" to clean up in the yard, boarding and grooming bills (which also grow as he grows), extra trips home to let the dog out, and a few toys have been chewed up along with a couple pairs or shoes, but he is VERY laid back and calm. We got the dog earlier than we had planned but I think we picked well.

and in the past 7 months since Murdoch has been in our family he and Harrison have both GROWN and GROWN!

Harrison is sick and this morning he felt horrible. I went into the bath room to get sunglasses and put on my shoes and came out to find this on my bedroom
Floor. Both of them sound a sleep

Remember this

When you think about getting a dog remember this.... Now we would not trade Murdoch for anything but bath time, and when he barks in the middle of the night, or chews up my fave shoes. But he is a great companion for Harrison and that we would not change for the world

Big DOG

This is why we have a BIG dog... a small dog just would not have been a good fit for this family.

Why we have a Dog

We got the dog when we did because we thought the move would be coming soon, more than likely July or Jan 2012. so we got Murdoch in March. We thought a dog would be a good playmate for Harrison during a move. I also wanted to house train a puppy when I had all hard floors for easier clean up.

As you can see they are best buddies and Harrison LOVES his dog, or his "son" as he calls him :) They lay and watch TV together, eat snacks, go to bed, and yes sometimes get a bit rough. But you will notice Harrison is laughing the whole time.

Silly

Silly silly boys. Someone needs to tell Murdoch that you can't be a lap dog when you weigh 60 pounds :)

Harrsion LOVES stickers so this morning he decked Murdoch out with some toy story stickers. Harrison thought it was much funnier than the dog.

Too BIG

 Our little Red Head Wonder is not so little anymore. He is getting so BIG and is so much FUN. it amazes us some of the things he come up with.

 And he SO LOVES his dog.

Cooling Off

OH MY

This afternoon while I had company Harrison and the dog decided to play (AKA rolled) in the compost pile.... they both smelled to high heaven and were GREEN from head to toe... The boy is clean the dog is mostly clean, may have to have another bath still.. but my bathroom may NEVER be the same after these baths.

John came home while I was drying the dog and could not believe the smell... but that was good compared to what we started out at. John could not believe I did not take pictures but I was just worried about them not TOUCHING anything from the back door to the bathroom.

LOVE

 Murdoch is getting SO big... you maybe tired of seeing pic of him but I can't get one of Harrison without the dog.

Just a Little Ride

 Yes, I have an old lady bike, and I LOVE it. It was my mother's day gift last year. Since my body just won't let me do a 2 wheel bike this works great. It is HEAVY  but I can ride with my boy. And it comes in handy for trips tot he library and hauling the dog around :) Even thought I don't think Murdoch will fit in the basket for long.
