Locks

I am so thankful that the new house has locks on the bathroom, which the old house did not have. I can lock the door even if the dog and kid wait at the door for me they are at least not in there with me :)

Friday Afternoon

What are you cooking for the weekend, I am planning on fixing the following today

some corn dip http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/04/corn-dip.html,
potato soup http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/02/easy-potato-sausage-soup.html,
palmetto cheese,  http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/04/pimento-cheese.html%20and
chicken salad, http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/04/chicken-salads.html
along with somegranola bars http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/04/nutty-granola-bars.html to eat on this weekend.

Since I am a stay at home mom I like to cook extra and have the house picked up on Fridays so I don't have to cook much over the weekend. Gives me a little break for the weekend. If I don't do this the weekends are just like every other day of the week. And we all need a break. And if I am prepared, we don't eat out over the weekend and if we decide to do something I don't have to worry about when I am going to get my cooking done. So this afternoon will be a cooking day with tonight's dinner (http://recipeswelove1.blogspot.com/2011/03/crock-pot-basil-chicken-weight-watchers.html ) and getting ready for the weekend.

New Year

So what are you trying to do this year.

As almost everyone I would like to get healthier. We eat pretty well, and John and I keep trying to keep each other active. But we can always do better in this area. I know how important good health is.

I am working HARD on slowing down and being HOME more. Yes we like to go and will are still going to do that but I am working on hard on doing more AT HOME and running less. We are done with speech and OT so that gave us LOTS of time back, we cut riding back down to once a week, and Harrison is going to Mother's Day Out 2 days instead of 3, since I am only having to be at the office one day a week now. We just had TOO MUCH going on and the weeks were just passing too fast. I want to enjoy this time with Harrison so I am making it a priority to spend more time and at a slower pace. My goal is just to run errands once a week and maybe running the library before or after Mother's Day Out once a week. So far this month we are doing good. We will see how we keep it up.

I still plan on our trip with friends and family but just slowing down our day to day lives.

Mother Son Lunch Dates

For the past 14 months I have had the most wonderful standing Lunch Date with the Most Wonderful little Red Head Wonder. After Harrison's Speech on Mondays we head out for our Date. Some days we eat in the car but must of the time we go somewhere. It is a fun time just for us, and gives us something too look forward to after therapy to start our week off. The pictures above is a picnic in the car at the duck pond. So we had some lunch and feed some ducks.

This Season of my life...

My house is not perfect, the yard is not perfect, the clothes are not always put a way but I am enjoying this season of my life. I will have years, lots of them hopefully, where I can clean as much as I want, my closets can be nice and tidy. But for Now I am loving toys around the house, little shoes here and there. I would not change a thing.

Why do I try....

So I try to keep a clean and tidy house, I try to decorate, and have a welcoming home for family and friends but in this season of my life this is what you might see when you come for a visit.

do you see it???

I don't think Happy Feet goes with the Easter Theme

And at any given time you will see several pairs of rain boots, cowboy boots, etc laying in random places, like the bathroom or dinning room.
Even though I wish my house was more tidy and would stay that way for more than 10 minutes. I would not trade it for anything in the world

ALL in a Day

So many nights John comes home a looks around and says what did you do today, or at the end of the day I try to think about how my time was spend during the day. Today Harrison did not have speech because of snow, which should mean we would be home most of the day so I thought I would take some shots of our day.

A FEW LOADS OF LAUNDRY.

WASH DISHES, TIME THREE

BREAKFASTMOM'S WAY TO GET THE MORNING GOING...

WATCH THE SNOW AND ANIMALS IN THE YARD...

HARRISON HAD CEREAL SUCK TO HIS MOUTH AND I TOLD HIM HE NEEDED TO WASH IT OFF AND THIS IS WHAT HE DID. PUT SOAP ON HIS MOUTH AND STUCK HIS WHOLE FACE UNDER THE FACET.

I CUT A FEW COUPONS WHILE HARRISON DID HIS OWN THING, A GIRL HAS TO TRY TO SAVE A EXTRA DOLLARS.

THEN OFF FOR "SCHOOL WORK" TODAY HARRISON WORKED HARD FOR OVER 45 MINS. SOME DAYS I GET THIS MUCH OUT OF HIM OTHERS IT IS ONLY 10 MINS. THE LETTER WAS "Y"

BUT WE ALWAYS HAVE TO PAINT OR GLUE TOO.

WHILE HARRISON PLAYED I WORKED ON CLEANING OUT HIS CLOSET.

AND WHEN I GO THROUGH HIS CLOSET IT ALWAYS MEANS THINGS GET PULLED OUT. TODAY I HAD TWO BOXES OF GOODIES TO PASS ON TO FRIENDS AND TWO TOTES TO PUT UP IN THE ATTIC JUST IN CASE I NEED THEM AGAIN SOME DAY. I HAD MORE THAN NORMAL FOR THE ATTIC SINCE I WAS ABLE TO GO THROUGH A FEW TOYS TO PUT UP ALONG WITH THE OLD TODDLER BED BEDDING.

GAME TIME, I THINK WE HAD ALL OF THESE DOWN AT SOME POINT DURING THE DAY PLUS CHECKERS AND HIND AND SEEK. LUNCH TIME

NAP TIME...AW... MOM CAN BREATH FOR A FEW
DURING NAP JOHN CAME HOME FOR LUNCH, SO HIS LUNCH WAS FIXED AND CLEANED UP. I GOT READY FOR AN AFTERNOON OF PICTURES FOR THE OFFICE, PUT CLOTHES AWAY, THOUGHT ABOUT DINNER PREP.

A LITTLE EXERCISE DURING NAP TIME IS ALWAYS NICE TOO.THEN WE WERE OFF TO TAKE PICTURES OF A FEW HOUSE FOR JOHN, WHICH HAS TO BE DONE FOR THEIR UNDERWRITING. THIS TRIP I EXPECTED TO LAST ABOUT 2 HOURS. BUT IT TURNED INTO 5 1/2 HOURS AND ALL PICTURES WERE NOT GOTTEN. AN ACCIDENT (NOT US, WE JUST WERE STUCK IN THE TRAFFIC), A GPS THAT DID NOT WORK, AND TWO BATHROOM BREAKS ALL MADE FOR LONG AFTERNOON.
I HAD NOT PLANNED ON THIS TAKING THAT LONG AND ONLY TOOK TWO JUICE/MILK BOXES WITH US AND LUCKY HAD A SMALL SNACK IN HARRISON'S BACKPACK. SO WE GOT BACK INTO BARDSTOWN ABOUT 7:15 AND I HAD TO FEED HARRISON WHICH IS A FEAT IN ITSELF WITH A GLUTEN FREE DIET. WE ALSO NEEDED ANOTHER BATHROOM BREAK SO WE STOPPED AT KROGER TO "POTTY" AND FOUND A COUPLE FUN BOOKS FOR A GOOD LITTLE BOY, AND FOUND HARRISON SOME DINNER OFF THE SALAD BAR. THEN WE WERE OFF TO HEAD HOME.
WE DID SEE A REALLY PRETTY SUNSET ON OUR ADVENTURE. THEN YOU KNOW WE HAD TO HAVE SOME MORE TRAIN TIME BEFORE BED.
THEN OFF TO BED FOR A LITTLE BOY...

THEN IT WAS TIME TO FIX DINNER FOR MOMMY AND DADDY, ALONG WITH PACK FOR MOTHER'S DAY OUT, PUT THE REST OF THE CLOTHES UP AND WATCH A MOVIE WITH JOHN. JUST A NORMAL DAY....

Harrison and his Daddy

This is my favorite picture of John and Harrison the day after he was born.

Tonight after I put Harrison to bed and during his second dirty diaper since bed time (yes I know, he can do it on demand ( within an hour) at bedtime but not on the potty no matter how hard he tries), we had a sweet conversation. I love that I am able to understand more and more of what he says and piece his sentences together to really see the heart of my child. It went something like this, and remember I am translating and Paraphrasing for Harrison here.

Harrison: Daddy needs to be home, it is dark out side.

Mommy: Daddy works hard so we can have a nice house, food, and choo choo trains. (we all know Harrison's world revolves around trains)

Harrison: Its Dark outside (going to the window and pulling the shade) I need Daddy Hugs and kisses to go to sleep (with lots of sound effects in place of words)

Mommy: Daddy has to work sometimes when it is dark so Mommy does not have to work every day.

Harrison: confused look on his face

Mommy: Some Mommies have to work everyday but your Mommy only has to work a Little in Daddy's office and I get to stay home and play with you and we get to do lots of fun stuff together. That's why Daddy works late.

Harrison: Gets ups and gives me a big hug and kiss saying "oh tank (thank) yous mommy"

THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT, sure we could do more and have more "Stuff" if I worked full time outside of the home but even my Three year thanks it is pretty important for me to be home with him, how sweet. And it makes for a much healthier Mommy with Lupus that can take it easy when she needs too. I think we are pretty lucky to have a Daddy and Husband like John.

THANK YOU DADDY!!!!! and Harrison is expecting hugs and kisses when you get home by the way. :)
